#Donatebloodtoday: support local blood drives
According to the national blood bank's website, blood stocks are critically low.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is encouraging the public to support blood drives in the community.
You can donate blood at the following upcoming blood drives in Boksburg:
Laerskool Concordia
Laerskool Concordia will be hosting its monthly blood drive on June 7 and 11 from 9am to 4pm.
Leadhome
Leadhome, in association with SANBS, will be holding a blood drive at SANBS’s donor centre at the East Rand Mall on June 12 from 9am to 3pm.
Minimum requirements to be a donor:
• Be between the ages of 16 and 75
• Weigh 50kg or more
• Be in good health
• Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient
• Lead a sexually safe lifestyle.
