WATCH: Miss Junction 21 winners crowned
As part of the pageant's entry fee, entrants were required to donate a tin of cat or dog food in support of the Boksburg SPCA.
Junction 21 Indoor Market held its first Miss Junction 21 pageant on June 5.
The market, which is situated at the Pepper Square Mall, attracted 85 young hopefuls from Boksburg and surrounding areas.
Categorised into five different age groups from three to 20 plus, contestants looked dazzling in their evening gowns as they strutted their best runway walks to impress the judges.
The judges were Chanel Engelbrecht (Miss Johannesburg), Tylor Kotzé (Sir Elite South Africa), Lourdes Holder (who has nine years of modelling experience), Bianca Birnie (African Queen Foundation ambassador) and Godfrey Matenchi (Less Ordinary Piece, a tenant at Junction 21 that sells art pieces and antiques).
Boksburg singer Zehan Venter (10) and other acts kept the crowd entertained during the show with their hit songs and dances.

When the moment of truth arrived, only three winners in each category were selected. In the three to six years category, Taliyah Davis took home the crown while in the seven to nine years category Laritza Booyens outshined the other finalists.
Alaska Opperman and 15-year-old Chante Werner were crowned winners in the 10 to13 years and 14 to 16 years category, respectively.
Speaking to Advertiser, Werner, who is a learner at Hoërskool Oosterlig and under Ace Models, said she was happy to be chosen as the winner, although she wasn’t expecting it.
Meanwhile, in the 17 to 19 years category and 20 plus category, Charne van Emmenis and Nicole Bosch took home the title. Van Emmenis, who studies law at the North-West University, said she dedicated her win to her boyfriend’s father who died on the morning of June 5.
Bosch (20) who lives in Witfield said: “It feels nice to be crowned as the winner, although I was nervous throughout the show.”
The winners walked away with amazing prizes, including cash, cosmetics, haircuts and blow waves, meals, food vouchers, costume jewellery, evening tops, soft toys, bath salts, flowers, bouquets, photography and modelling sessions and many more.
Furthermore, the pageant also reached out to the Boksburg SPCA by donating pet food and blankets to the society, which entrants donated as an entry fee.
