Ekurhuleni launches online portal for business permits

Through this initiative, the City aims to help business owners have access to municipal business services in the comfort of their homes or offices.

The City of Ekurhuleni will launch an online portal for the formal and informal business sector.

The new platform will be launched in Boksburg on June 15.

According to metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, through this initiative, the City aims to help business owners have access to municipal business services in the comfort of their homes or offices.

MMC for Finance and Economic Development Nkosindiphile Xhakaza said: “We are happy we will officially launch our online portal system that will bring much-needed convenience when applying for trading permits and business licences.

“This online system will ensure business entities receive and submit applications for permits in the comfort of their own business offices.

“We need to make it easy for our informal traders and formal businesses to apply for permits and business licences to be fully compliant to conduct business in the City.”
