Correctional officials donates to Villa Liza organisation

The officials chose the organisation after seeing a need.

Female officials at the Boksburg Correctional Services recently put a smile on the faces of children at the Philasande Community Centre in Villa Liza, as part of their Women’s Month initiative.

Besides spending the afternoon with the beneficiaries, they also opened their hearts and donated food, clothes, toiletries and sanitary pads.

Philasande Community Centre is a drop-in centre for vulnerable children, they assist children from child-headed families and young pregnant teens.

Phumla Sukazi, manager of Philasande Villa Liza Community Centre, said: “We appreciate the donation we received. It boosted us a lot since we are a self-funded organisation.
“Our beneficiaries from child-headed homes will now take home extra food because we have enough to feed everyone.”
