
A Parkdene woman escaped rape by a gang of robbers who invaded her house on September 7.
According to police reports, the woman heard a commotion at the glass door at about 13:45. She went to check and noticed the shadows of people in the house.
She ran into her bedroom, but the suspects entered her room before she could lock the door. Armed with a rake and a drain rod, they tied up the woman with cables and demanded money.
They then took her cellphone, an iPhone, jewellery and wallet containing R50 000.
Thereupon, one of the intruders tried to rape her, but she told him her husband has just arrived and is at the gate. He apparently panicked and they ran away.
They also tried to steal the TV but failed as it was too heavy for them to carry.
In another home invasion, two men forced their way into a residential property on Tokai Road in Sunward Park and took electronic devices worth thousands of rands on September 3.
The victim, a woman, told police she and her son were in the house when they noticed the pair breaking the sliding door using a crowbar.
Once inside the house, they took a TV and a laptop before fleeing the scene.
In Parkrand, thieves forced their way into a residential property on Le Roux Street and stole electrical appliances while the homeowner was asleep.
The homeowner told police at about 23:00 on September 6 he went to sleep, but at about 03:00 he noticed the house had been burgled.
Thieves removed an aluminium window frame to gain entry and stole a Samsung camera and TV.
Burgled business
In Boksburg East industrial area, thieves entered a business on Bain Street and ransacked it sometime between September 1 and 2.
The complainant told police he returned to work on September 2 to find that thugs forcefully opened one of the windows to gain entry and stole laptops, monitors, computer towers, a hard drive, kettle, flash drive and money.
