Capitec Bank surprises locals with much-needed donation
Bank pulls out all stops to bring smiles to a local organisation and school.
Despite economic challenges posed by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Capitec Bank (Kempton Park/Boksburg region) donated loads of food items, toilet tissues, sanitary pads and handmade blankets to House of Mercy and Balmoral College on September 10.
Wearing matching black T-shirts, members of the Kempton Park/Boksburg region made their first stop at House of Mercy before proceeding to the college.
Speaking on behalf of the Capitec Kempton Park/Boksburg region, Tumi Xaba said: “Because we care for the community, we decided to reach out to communities where our clients are based. We saw it fit to give back to the people of Boksburg who are our loyal customers because without them we don’t exist.”
Monica Mashiane, the director of House of Mercy, extended her gratitude to the donors for their support. “We appreciate their contribution as it will make a difference to the centre during these trying times.”
Meanwhile, Balmoral College staff welcomed the food donation, which will assist towards the school’s feeding scheme. About 45 branded Capitec bags were also donated to the learners.
The Kempton Park/Boksburg region consists of eight branches, six from Kempton Park and two from Boksburg.
