The cause of the accident is being investigated by police.

Three men were rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries when the car they were travelling in ploughed into one of the traffic lights on Cason Road on October 9.

ER24 and State ambulances arrived just after midnight to find a light motor vehicle smashed against the traffic light. One man was found seated inside the car, while two men were seated outside.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, medics assessed the men and found all three had sustained moderate injuries. They were treated on scene before transported to a nearby private hospital for further care.
