Boksburg Football Club’s u-17 team is the record title winners in the Eastern Local Football Association, having won the league with 42 points.
Daveyton team Amabherede FC came in second with 39 points in the 16 games that were played during the league.
During the final game on October 23, the Boksburg FC team played against Bonaero Park, where they scored 5-0.
Expressing jubilation, Boksburg FC coach Simphiwe Mgetyengana said: “The league was tough, but I’m glad we pulled through victorious. The players were a joy to work with as they showed resilience and hard work. In some of the games, we had to pull in younger players to assist us.”
The Boksburg FC team trains at Prince George Park every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 16:30.
