Man arrested for sexual assault

The Family Violence and Child Unit are investigating the incident.

The Boksburg North police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with a sexual assault case opened against him.

A 32-year-old woman who works at a company in Anderbolt has told police on October 11 she was called by her male colleague who informed her there was something wrong inside the women’s bathroom and was instructed to go and check.

According to Boksburg North spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the woman told the man to instruct another woman who cleans the toilets, but the man persisted that she should go.

“When the woman went to the bathroom she supposedly found nothing odd but when she was about to leave, the man pushed her into one of the bathroom stalls.”

The woman told police she was touched inappropriately on her breasts, private part and the man fondled his private part against her.

“The woman told him to stop but the man requested she should have sex with him. The woman allegedly screamed for help. On the second scream, the man released her.”

The man was arrested on the same day and will appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on October 28, for bail hearing.

The matter has been transferred to the Family Violence and Child Unit for further investigation.
