Customers can now collect new bins at depots if needed

You are, however, required to produce proof that your bin was stolen.

Having your wheelie bins stolen or broken can be very frustrating, but the good news is that the municipality’s despots now have enough stock to replace them.

You can visit your nearest waste management depot to get new 240L wheelie bins to replace your broken or stolen bins.

However, upon collection of a new bin, residents will be required to produce proof of a stolen bin by means of an affidavit acquired at the police station, and those with broken bins will have to bring them to the depot in exchange for a new one.
Customers coming to collect their new bins need to bring along their original identity document and the municipal account statement.

“We would like to thank our customers for their patience during a time when we had challenges with the procurement of the 240L wheelie bins stock.
“Now, we have enough stock available at our depots; therefore, we are calling on all who have stolen or broken 240L wheelie bins to collect new ones at our depots,” said MMC for Environment Resources and Waste Management Services Ald Makhosazana Mabaso.
