The Boksburg North police are investigating the death of a one-year-old child who allegedly died after choking on mashed potatoes.
The incident happened recently in Boksburg North.
According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the mother of the child told police while feeding the baby mashed potatoes, she apparently choked.
The mother rushed her to Tambo Memorial Hospital, where she died. Ramaube said the police were called to the hospital.
“No one has been arrested. Circumstances surrounding the death of the baby will be revealed by the investigation,” said Ramaube.
The police have opened an inquest docket.
