A customer was shot during an armed robbery at Jumbo Bottle Store, located at the corner of Cason and Trichardts roads, on November 6.

The man, who was shot in the upper body after attempting to escape the crime scene, was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, three men entered the store at about 19:43 and held up customers and staff at gunpoint, while one of the robbers stood outside holding a pump gun.

During the robbery, one of the customers tried to run away, but he was dragged back into the store. One of the suspects allegedly shot the victim in the upper body after realising he had a short air gun with him,” said Ramaube.

The suspects allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money from the till before fleeing on foot.
