Boksburg collision left two men injured

Rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free the two men from the vehicle.

Two people were injured, one critically, when two motor vehicles collided at the intersection of Trichardts and Truter roads in Boksburg.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics and other services arrived at 06:15 to find one vehicle on the side of the road against a traffic light. A second vehicle was parked a short distance away on the side of the road.

“On closer inspection, medics found two men, aged 18 and 45, trapped inside one of the vehicles.
“Medics assessed the patients and found that the young man was in a critical condition, while the other man had sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the second vehicle escaped injury,” explained Meiring.

“Once released, medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support before both patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
