Members of the Boksburg North SAPS, Provincial Flash Liquor, Murder Task Team and Task Security Team, under the leadership of WO Rudolf Bezuidenhout, apprehended a 38-year-old foreign national tavern owner in Cason Road on January 14 for falsifying his liquor licence.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the arrest was made during a raid at the tavern.
“During the raid, police also discovered that the serial number range depicted on the licence falls within the number range of licences that were stolen in Johannesburg some time ago,” said Ramaube.
The suspect was detained at Boksburg North SAPS while his false licence, liquor, chairs, table and speakers were confiscated.
Ramaube added a case of operating a liquor business with a false liquor licence against the suspect who will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
