Suspects arrested during high-density operation

The aim of the operation was to increase police visibility and arrest known suspects.

Boksburg North SAPS apprehended 12 suspects during a high-density operation led by branch commander Lt-Col Kwena Meso.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the officers arrested a 38-year-old man for armed robbery, a 41-year-old woman for crimen injuria, a 42-year-old man for common assault, a 41-year-old woman for crimen injuria and another woman, whose age is unknown, for common assault.

“The other arrests emanate from admission of guilt fines, whereby six were issued with a R300 fine for drinking in public. Meanwhile, another fine was issued for disobeying the National Road Traffic Act. The total amount of fines is R3 800.”

Ramaube described the operation as a success.

“The main objective of the operation was to increase police visibility and arrest known suspects,” he added.
