Six suspects arrested for allegedly killing a man

Suspects who might have burnt the burnt body which was found in the Windmill Park veld were arrested on January 28.

Reiger Park SAPS’ Tracing Unit arrested six men on January 28 in connection with the burned body found in a veld next to Windmill Park’s Taxi Rank.

According to Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Zanele Motaung, it’s believed that the suspects kidnapped the man (his name known to the Advertiser) from Delmore informal settlement on January 19.

“A case of kidnapping was opened and assigned to Sgt Det Maxwell Siweya. The investigation led to the arrest of one suspect who allegedly confessed to the police that he along with his friends committed the crime. The other suspects were then arrested.”

The suspect allegedly told the police that he along with his accomplices kidnapped and killed the man and dumped his body in Windmill Park.

“He took the police to the spot where they dumped the body, but the body was no longer there. It was discovered that this is the same spot where the Dawn Park SAPS discovered the burnt body.”

Motaung said investigations are underway. Motaung also pointed out that there are witnesses to the kidnapping.
The six were scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
