According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, firearms of different calibres were also discovered during the gun battle, which erupted in the veld along the stretch of Main Reef Road between Rietfontein and Rondebult roads.

Motorists are advised to avoid the stretch of road as police cordoned off the area amid further investigation and a search for other suspects in the bushes. The arrested suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
