The Reiger Park SAPS along with the K-9 EMPD Unit apprehended a 27-year-old man who is suspected to be a drug dealer in Ramaphosa, Reiger Park, on February 18.
According to Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Zanele Motaung, police officers raided the suspect’s house following a tip-off.
Upon searching the property, they found 60 packets of crystal meth, 90 Mandrax drugs, ammunition and a large amount of dagga.
In another story, the Reiger Park police arrested a woman who was found in possession of stolen goods on February 18, in Goedehoop Street.
According to Motaung, a person had reported her belongings were stolen and opened a case of theft.
Officers saw the suspect wearing the takkies reported stolen and the woman was arrested and charged with possession of stolen goods.
In a different case, which also happened on February 18, a person reported that someone pointed a gun at him in Reiger Park, and police officers acted instantly upon the report and went to search the house of the man who was alleged to have pointed the gun at the victim.
They found an illegal firearm in the suspect’s house and he later informed the police that his friend also has a gun.
Police followed up on this information and found the friend in possession of a pistol. Both were then arrested.
“People must stop buying stolen goods because they will be arrested if they are found in possession of these items.
“Also, I encourage every person who owns an illegal firearm to hand it over to the nearest police station,” said Motaung.
