The Dawn Park police arrested four men on March 21 for assaulting two men they accused of trying to rob a tavern.
According to Capt Dan Mahlangu, the suspects were arrested in D Section, Windmill Park.
“Police were notified by a community member of Windmill Park that two men were being ‘beaten to death’ in the area. The four were arrested when police arrived. Both men were badly wounded and our police officers called the paramedics,” said Mahlangu.
“One of the injured men died on scene and the other was taken to hospital by the paramedics. The suspects appeared in court on March 21 and were remanded in custody,” said Mahlangu.
