“The re-appoint of Dr Mashazi will aid in maintaining the stability of the administration and ensure that the development goals of the municipality are realigned with the Multi-Party Coalition Government’s ‘Back-to-Basics’ vision.
Campbell pointed out that under the leadership of Dr Mashazi, the City has been awarded two consecutive clean audit opinions by the Auditor General of South Africa for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 financial years.

Furthermore, the city recently received a credit rating upgrade by two notches from negative to stable by the GCR Ratings Agency,” said Campbell.
“On behalf of the multi-party coalition government, we wish Dr Mashazi all the best on her monumental task ahead.
“We trust that she will lead the institution with diligence as we steadily transition into a new era of good governance and accountability.
“The residents of Ekurhuleni deserve an administration that works for them and that is committed to delivering quality services to citizens,” Campbell.
