ANC Youth League cleans up lake
The ANC Youth League of Boksburg recently organised a clean-up around Boksburg Lake in the vicinity of Market Street.

According to one of the organisers Lebai Sethoko, they initiated the cleaning programme because they realised the lake has become a dumping site.
“There is no security and the lake is being vandalised,” she said.
“We picked up litter and members of the community supported us by making sure we had the needed equipment, such as gloves, masks and refuse bags.

“We also had lunch after the programme,” Sethoko said.
The organiser said the clean-up was a success. More than 30 youth league members participated. “We believe more young people will assist in the next initiative.”
She thanked Chris Nxhambuza for his talk about Freedom Day at the event.
Sethoko, also the founder of NPO Basadi ba Kopane, encouraged the youth of Boksburg to support their programmes.
“I am elected to serve on the Youth Portfolio in Ward 32 and I aim to present programmes that will keep the youth busy and away from drugs because substance abuse is a big challenge in our community.”
