The Dawn Park police arrested two truck drivers selling 34 pallets of cement that were supposed to be delivered to a hardware store in Mpumalanga.
The spokesperson of Dawn Park SAPS, Sgt Nkemeleng Mabula, said the drivers of the trucks are from a company in Mpumalanga and they were supposed to deliver the bags, amounting to R24 000, to another company in the province, but that didn’t happen.
“Our police officers were tipped off about the crime, and they reacted swiftly to nab the drivers who were selling the cement illegally. Our officers even found the invoice for the cement.
“After our officers arrested the drivers, they discovered that a case of theft was opened for the men at Malelane in Mpumalanga. They appeared in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on May 18.”
