Police have issued a warning of motorists being robbed along Wit Deep Road between Main Reef Road and Commissioner Street.
In the latest incident, a driver was ambushed by a group of criminals at about 11:45 on June 26.
The victim told the police that he was driving in a white Tata on this stretch of road when he noticed a group of people. They forced him to stop the vehicle, broke into the car, pulled him out and stole various items.
The robbers took a toolbox containing cables, a spade, R200, 17 light bulbs and the man’s driver’s licence.
In another crime story, criminals targeted a female driver while her vehicle was stationary at traffic lights in Rondebult Road, just after 20:00 on June 24.
The Lambton woman told the police that she stopped at the traffic lights at the intersection of Main Reef and Rondebult roads before she was confronted by a man who instructed her to get out of the vehicle.
She refused and the assailant then broke the window and snatched her wallet, containing R700 cash and bank cards.
Burglary
A resident of Brink Street in Parkrand woke up on June 22 to find an intruder shining a torch around his kitchen.
It was at about 04:00 when the complainant heard a commotion in the kitchen and got out of bed to check.
The intruder fled empty-handed and it was later discovered that he had smashed a window to gain entry.
