Police seek families of men found shot dead

Their fingerprints have been run through databases from the Department of Home Affairs, but no match was made.

Detectives at the Boksburg SAPS are seeking the public’s help in tracing the next of kin of two men found dead from gunshot wounds, in separate locations in Boksburg.

Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Ntsako Ledwaba said that in an effort to identify the deceased, their fingerprints have been run through databases from the Department of Home Affairs, but no match was made.

The one body, that of an African male, was found in a veld behind Tambo Memorial Hospital on February 9 with multiple gunshot wounds.
The deceased was wearing black trousers and blue T-shirt.

Another body of an African male, also with bullet wounds, was found in a veld next to the mine dump between Comet and Angelo informal settlement on May 12.
The deceased was dressed in a red jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of the deceased or who may be able to identify them should contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Chauke, on 073 136 7707.
