Boksburg Child Welfare is need of donations
They sometimes hinder their service delivery due to lack of resources.
Boksburg Child Welfare is appealing to the public for donations of food, clothing, transportation as well as financial assistance.
According to the organisation’s acting director, Nompumelelo Gidela, they are in dire need of help from the public.
“We are struggling and would like the public to assist if they can. Our service delivery is being affected due to a lack of resources.
“Among our most critical needs is transportation for our social workers and social auxiliary workers to do their jobs effectively, including conducting home and school visits and investigations. We only have one car and it frequently breaks down.
“We lack funds and solely rely on the generosity of the public. The department only subsidises our salaries.
“Printers, fans, heaters, food, clothing and transportation are paid for out of our own pocket.
“When it comes to allocating children to foster parents, we struggle because we arrive empty-handed when we take them to their foster parents, which frustrates us,” said Gidela.
The Child Welfare would also appreciate help from the public with fundraising. All ideas are welcome.
Anyone who can assist in any way may contact Nompumelelo Gidela on 011 039 4679.
