A series of bodies continue to be discovered in the Villa Liza and Windmill Park areas.
Two men were found dead in different spots on July 9 in Villa Liza by residents who tipped off the Dawn Park SAPS.
According to the Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, the first body was discovered at Cuckoo Street in Villa Liza at 01:15. The residents said they heard gunshots.
“It is rumoured that the security guard was opening the gate at his home when he was approached by an unknown man, who shot him. A case of murder has been opened at our police station. Investigations continue,” said Mabula.
Mabula added that the other victim, who is in his 20s, was found at the veld next to Rooikraal Landfill Site at 08:00 by a passerby who notified the police station.
“Paramedics were called to the scene and they declared the man dead. A murder case was also opened at the Dawn Park Police Station and investigations are ongoing,” explained Mabula.
There are now eight recorded bodies found in Villa Liza and Windmill from January to date.
The Dawn Park police are pleading to anyone with any information about both murder cases to call the Dawn Park Police Station on 011 862 8000 or 011 862 8017.
• The bodies of best friends Tshepiso Ntomane (40) and Retshedisitse Phatswane (31) were found near the Rooikraal Landfill Site on January 3.
• The burnt body of a man was found in a veld in Windmill Park on January 24.
• The burnt body of Oupa Dimaza (45) was found in a veld next to Windmill Park Estate on February 21.
• A 39-year-old man’s body was found in a veld in Villa Liza Ext Two on February 27.
• A man’s body was found at the Villa Liza sports field on June 13.
