Power update for Anderbolt residents, businesses
Crews are working fast to replace the damaged equipment.
The metro shared an update on the work to restore power in the Anderbolt industrial site and surrounding residential areas, saying the estimated restoration time is Thursday morning, June 22.
The area was plunged into darkness after an explosion at a substation in Anderbolt yesterday afternoon (June 19). The damage caused an outage that affected crucial supply points to large parts of Boksburg North.
The metro told the Boksburg Advertiser this morning (June 20) that its crews are working fast to replace the damaged 11KV switchgear to restore power.
“Work is going well, and we have to start replacing the damaged 11KV cables,” reads a statement from the metro.
