Metro demolishes a part of the wall used by criminals to hide in Jensen Park

The residents of the area want the wall to be utterly demolished.

FOLLOW-UP: The Ekurhuleni metro is in the process of demolishing the precast wall in the veld opposite the East Rand taxi rank, between First Road and Edgar Street, Jansen Park, which the Boksburg Advertiser recently reported on as having become a hotspot for muggings of pedestrians.

The wall has been demolished.

A trench has also been dug to prevent cars from driving through the area.

Pedestrians can still access the land.

The metro’s explained the wall was erected by the community years ago, adding the concrete pipes in the veld will also be removed.
