Learners and parents awash with colour during fun day

"It was a fun day for kids and parents to come together to have a good time.”

St Francis College learners ensured their parents, teachers and all participants were properly covered in coloured powder in the mini-colour walk during the school’s family fun day on November 5.

The 10-lap walk started inside the school premises with participants dressed in bright colours and in the end, they finished the walk plastered in different shades of coloured powder.

St Franics College head of operations Amanda Brummer and educator Bilinda Schmidt.

“It’s the first year we are doing the event again since Covid-19. We had inflatables and lots of food and handbag stalls.

“We also had a mini-colour walk of 10 laps where the finishers stood a chance to win a R400 Mr Price voucher. It was a fun day for kids and parents to come together to have a good time,” said the school’s head of operations, Amanda Brummer.

Learners Kayla Mishe, Michelle Slongo and Angel Aloze awash with colour.

She said the purpose was for the learners, parents and community members to come together and celebrate the school’s achievements this year.

“It’s a stressful time of the year for all our learners who are preparing for their exams. It’s also a time for us to celebrate all our achievements. The learners are doing very well and we are proud of them. This also gave us an opportunity to celebrate together as a school and community,” she said.

Brummer said the proceeds from the event will go towards the construction of a new media centre for the school.
