Letter: Stop mafia cops collecting cash
"The public needs a dedicated hotline to report such offences."

ACDP Clr Teboho Mokoena writes:
Unfortunately, cops collecting cash or free cold-drinks from foreign spaza shop-owners are a common sight in the townships of Ekurhuleni.
This means that the majority of such shop-owners do not have to comply with local government by-laws regarding health and city planning. This opens the door to the selling of fake or toxic food, and gives them an unfair advantage over local entrepreneurs.
The public needs a dedicated hotline to report such offences, because they obviously cannot go to the police station to do so.
