Oli made headlines after his owner walked into the society in May 2021 with Oliver inside a car oil-soaked bucket and told staff he no longer wanted the dog.
The Oli and Friends calendar, aimed at raising funds for Boksburg SPCA, has been a huge success.
According to SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, the sales of the calendar are going well.
The calendar is mostly filled with adorable photos of Oliver (Oli), a desperately sick dachshund-cross pup surrendered to the society in a oil-soaked bucket in May 2021.
You can get your calendar at the SPCA or at Park Veterinary Hospital, corner Kingfisher Street and Rondebult Road, and North Rand Road Animal Hospital for R100.
A calendar can also be couriered to your doorstep at an extra cost of R100.
According to Vicky, Oli continues to thrive at the SPCA.
“He is a familiar sight for visitors, always happily basking in the sun at the entrance
to the reception area. We’re in no rush to rehome Oli, but will certainly consider it when the perfect adoption comes along,” Vicky said.

“The owner put the bucket down and inside was a brown, skeletal figure of what looked like a dog, soaked in car oil.
“The little guy lifted his head and looked around and when we pulled him out of the bucket we noticed he could still walk. We knew there may be hope,” Vicky said at the time.
She expressed her gratitude towards everyone who made donations towards Oli’s rehabilitation.
“Scores of animal lovers from around the world made financial contributions towards Oliver’s medical treatment.
“Due to the overwhelming public support we’ve received, we have been able to give Oliver the best medical care that we wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise.”
