Hospital telephone lines restored
Frustrated readers told this publication that they have been battling to get through to the hospital to make enquiries.
Telephone lines at Tambo Memorial Hospital (TMH) have been restored after they were intermittently down for days as a result of a system fault.
The trouble, which started at the weekend, prompted the activation of alternative phone lines for people to use during the downtimes.
Frustrated readers told this publication that they have been battling to get through to the hospital to either make enquiries, make appointments or get updates on their admitted relatives.
The hospital confirmed that the facility did have telephone issues, which started at the weekend.
Although the problem was, according to management, attended to and telephone services were subsequently restored, it appears that the facility continued to experience line outages from time to time until February 27, as people were still unable to call through to the hospital.
