#2024 Elections: Residents of Boksburg cast their special votes

Some of the major political parties wrapped up their campaigns with final rallies in different parts of the country over the weekend.

Special voting is taking place today and tomorrow (between 09:00 and 17:00), ahead of the main elections scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced that it had received over 1.5 million applications of special votes across the country.

The Boksburg Advertiser team visited some of the polling stations in Boksburg and spoke to some of the officials and the voters who came through to cast their special votes.

While most of the polling stations visited by this publication said they were well prepared for the process and they opened at 09:00; opening of the Atlasville Tennis Club polling station was slightly delayed – after officials reportedly initially went to the wrong address. Technical glitches also slightly impacted the process at this station.
