Ramaphosa man gets 15 years for murder

Mabuza was found guilty of stabbing a 46-year-old man during a fight in Ramaphosa.

The Vosloorus Regional Court sentenced 35-year-old Abednigo Mabuza from Ramaphosa informal settlement to 15 years’ imprisonment on October 9 for a murder he committed on April 27, 2023.

Mabuza was found guilty of stabbing a 46-year-old man during a fight in Ramaphosa.

According to Constable Johannes Msimanga, Constable Ronald Ntswane led the investigation and his efforts resulted in Mabuza’s arrest and successful prosecution.

“The incident occurred when a fight broke out between Mabuza and the victim outside an event venue.

“During the altercation, Mabuza fatally stabbed the man. The victim was rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle but was declared dead on arrival.”

Boksburg SAPS responded to the hospital and a murder case was opened, which was later transferred to Reiger Park SAPS.

Reiger Park SAPS station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Bongani Dube, welcomed the sentence and commended Detective Ntswane for his dedication and hard work.

Attempts by Boksburg Advertiser to reach the victim’s family for comment were unsuccessful by the time of publication.
