Boksburg side Future of Africa (FOA) FC celebrated its successful year at its annual black-tie awards ceremony at the Benvenutti Function Venue in Kliprivier on December 7.
The players, dressed to impress, walked the red carpet alongside their families to mark a historic season for the club.

The evening celebrated and honoured the club’s exceptional achievements this year, including its promotion to the Gauteng Development Promotional League (GDL) for 2025.

Special guest Sam Mbatha, the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy technical director, applauded the club’s growth and the pivotal role of family support in nurturing young talent.
“I have witnessed your participation in various tournaments. I am truly impressed by the commitment of your players and the unwavering support from their parents,” he said.
Also in attendance was former FOA player Luthando Mkhize, referred to as a shining example of the club’s vision for player development.

Mbatha, the first FOA product to play for the Sundowns academy, debuted for the national U15 team.
“His presence was a testament to the incredible potential the club cultivates, inspiring younger players to aim high,” said FOA chairperson Mohammed Lawal.
Lawal added that the ceremony was a night of pride and inspiration, underscoring the club’s commitment to excellence on and off the field.
“As the club looks to 2025, the foundation of talent, dedication and community support promises a bright future.”
