CMA kicks off roadshow in Randburg

The roadshow will visit four key locations to inspire and equip the 24 000 participants for this year's race.

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) kicks off its annual roadshow at the Run Zone Athletics Club at Randpark Golf Club in Randburg on February 6.

The roadshow will visit four key locations to inspire and equip the 24,000 participants for the down-run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban on June 8.

Local running clubs in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape will host the Comrades roadshows over the coming weeks.

Comrades coach Lindsey Parry encouraged runners to attend these sessions to receive exclusive advice on training, nutrition, injury prevention, and tapering among other essential topics, including a motivational talk.

“These roadshows are designed to assist runners at every level. We will focus on important aspects like consistency in your training, building a strong base and improving endurance; paying attention to signs of fatigue or injury; making time for rest and recovery; ways to help prevent injuries and improve overall performance; as well as nutrition issues and fuelling your training to aid recovery,” said Parry.

Join Parry at the Run Zone AC on February 6 at 19:00 for Comrades preparation tips.

Other roadshows:

• Gauteng North on February 19 at Phobians AC at 378 Queens Crescent, Lynnwood, Pretoria at 19:00
• Western Cape on February 27 at VOB Running Club at Constantia Sports Complex in Cape Town at 19:00
• KZN on March 4 at Durban Athletics Club at 19:00
