Community Learning Centre relocates to Ramaphosa

Msimanga reassured everyone that this move is a positive step forward.

St Anthony’s Community Learning Centre (CLC) in Reiger Park, previously located at St Anthony’s Education Centre, will be relocating to Ramaphosa Combined School.

The move represents a significant change for the Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) Centre, but it does not signal an end to its operations.

Instead, the centre is embarking on a new chapter in a different location, ensuring that its vital services to the community continue uninterrupted.

The centre has been instrumental in providing education and skills training to adults for nearly four decades.
Jabulani Msimanga, the centre manager, reassured students and the community that this is not the end of the CLC’s mission.

“We are not closing down; we are relocating to a new place where we can continue providing quality education.”

The relocation to Ramaphosa Combined School comes after careful consideration and is aimed at improving the learning environment for the more than 400 students who rely on the centre each year.

Msimanga emphasised that the academic year will proceed as planned, with classes resuming.

“Nothing will be disrupted,” he said.

With the move comes a rebranding effort. The centre will now operate as J Mabaso Community Learning Centre (CLC), reflecting its ongoing commitment to serving the educational needs of the community.

“While the name and location are changing, our core mission remains unchanged and we will continue to empower adults through education and skills development.”

Msimanga highlighted that the new location at Ramaphosa Combined School offers enhanced facilities and resources that will benefit both learners and staff.

The move is an opportunity to grow and improve, ensuring that the centre continues to support those seeking to complete their education or acquire new skills.

The announcement of the relocation has been met with understanding and support from the community.

Many residents expressed their gratitude that the centre’s services will remain accessible, albeit in a different location.

Msimanga reassured everyone that this move is a positive step forward.

“We are committed to maintaining our high standards of education and ensuring that our students’ learning journeys are not interrupted,” he said.

The centre’s staff is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition so students can continue their studies without any setbacks.

When asked about operations at the combined school, which also serves primary learners, Msimanga stated that they have already installed palisades to separate the areas.

“We believe this will not cause any disruptions as they will be separated.”
