Residents on the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight route are to take note of road disruptions on race day on February 16 from 06:00 to 15:00.

The race, which includes a 116km super classic distance presented by Ensure Gold and the 62km DS24 challenge, starts and ends at Boksburg City Stadium.

Jubilee Road around the stadium, Barry Marias Road, Essenhout, Keurboom, North Boundary Road [R554], the R103 in the Vosloorus Roodekop and Alrode areas, the R23 from Heidelberg and the R554 in the Carnival City areas will be affected.

Jubilee Road will have two-way traffic on the southbound side of the road from the City Stadium to Barry Marais from 06:15 until 15:00 while the northbound lanes will be for cyclists only.

The S bends from Barry Marais through Essenhout and Keurboom roads to North Boundary [R554] will be closed to all traffic from 06:00 to 15:00.

Residents in the area who need to enter or exit their property should call the communications JOC on 087 550 2482, to be escorted through the closed area. Please allow extra time to get through the thousands of cyclists.

Authorisation for the event has been granted by Ekurhuleni metro and EMPD, the SAPS and Gauteng Department of Roads.

Residents using North Boundary Road [West] from Carnival City should be extra cautious as cyclists will be changing lanes from the left lane to the right lane before they turn right into Keurboom Road.
