NPO empowers women to rebuild their lives

Valorous Woman offers a range of services designed to address the complexities of women's lives, including marriage counseling, single parenting support, trauma recovery and guidance for life after divorce.

Valorous Woman, an NPO based in Boksburg, is dedicated to helping women heal, rebuild and reclaim their power.

Founder Claudia Beans’ journey of emotional and financial abuse inspired her to create a platform that empowers women facing similar struggles.

Having endured a challenging marriage and the heartache of divorce, she understands firsthand the pain women experience when their lives fall apart.

“I was always drawn to helping women, especially those suffering in silence. It wasn’t until I went through my divorce that I realised how much women need guidance, more than just emotional support from family and friends. They need professional help from people who understand their struggles.”

Valorous Woman offers a range of services designed to address the complexities of women’s lives, including marriage counselling, single parenting support, trauma recovery and guidance for life after divorce.

“Healing takes time. It’s not about quick fixes but giving women the tools to rebuild their lives and relationships. Women need to rediscover their purpose and realise they are more than their circumstances.”

One of the standout programmes is the Life After Divorce initiative, which helps women heal emotionally and mentally after a separation.
“Divorce is never easy, but we help women find strength again, heal from the trauma and move forward with confidence. It’s about making them whole so they can start a new chapter,” she said.

Valorous Woman also hosts leadership mentoring retreats where women focus on personal growth and goal-setting.

“These retreats help women discover their potential, build leadership skills and set goals for the future. We want them to feel confident in their ability to lead, not just in their families, but also in their communities,” Beans said.
Another key initiative is the mother and child workshops and mother-daughter conferences, where families come together to heal and strengthen their relationships.

“We’re bridging the gap between parents and children, helping them communicate and build stronger bonds.”
Beans said that Valorous Woman’s impact is evident in success stories like that of a woman who attended the marriage and divorce retreat.

“Initially emotionally shattered, she found healing and clarity and is now a counsellor herself, helping other women rebuild their lives.”
Looking ahead, Claudia envisions expanding Valorous Woman beyond Boksburg to other cities and countries.
“We want to raise women who are confident in who they are, who know their worth and who are unafraid to face the world. It’s about changing the narrative, one life at a time.”
