Alcra Rescue hosts successful sterilisation day

Alcra Rescue has announced its next Sterilisation Day for Friday, June 7, and bookings are now open.

Boksburg-based animal rescue organisation Alcra Rescue celebrated another milestone in its ongoing mission to fight pet overpopulation and reduce animal suffering during its Sterilisation Day, held on May 10 in Pretoria.

According to Chantezé Blignaut of Alcra Rescue, the team successfully sterilised six cats and 13 dogs whose lives have been changed for the better.
“That’s 19 lives changed, and potentially over 100 kittens and puppies that won’t be born into uncertainty or struggle to find homes,” said Blignaut.

The organisation emphasised that every single sterilisation counts, describing the procedure as one of the most effective tools in combating overpopulation and creating a more humane future for animals in need.

“A massive thank you to everyone who supports our mission. Together, we’re making a real difference, one snip at a time.”
