CBC Boksburg to welcome acclaimed education leader as new primary school principal

Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) Boksburg is excited to announce that Karthi Pillay will be warmly welcomed as the new Combined Primary Schools principal, effective September 1.

The important appointment signals a fresh chapter for the school as it strengthens its leadership team in pursuit of academic excellence and holistic learner development.
CBC Boksburg marketing manager, Nikita Teixeira said Pillay brings an impressive background in education leadership and innovation, having served as executive principal at Acudeo College and as senior deputy principal at Southdown’s Preparatory. His extensive experience and dynamic approach to education leadership make him an ideal fit for the CBC family.

“His professional achievements speak for themselves. Pillay was recognised as one of the Top 200 Young South Africans in 2023 and was awarded the Global ED Falcon Award for Young Leaders in 2024, both prestigious accolades that reflect his commitment to excellence in education and his influence in shaping future-focused schooling.

Teixeira said Pillay holds a National Professional Diploma in Education (Intermediate and Senior Phase) from the University of the North West, and an Advanced Certificate in Intermediate Phase Teaching from the University of the Free State. His academic grounding, paired with his practical leadership experience, equips him to guide CBC’s primary school into a new chapter of growth, innovation, and inclusivity.

His wife, also an educator, shares his passion for teaching and learning, and their young son will be joining CBC’s junior primary school in the coming academic year.
