Women are leading the way in male-dominated industries

Three trailblazing women Lebohang Lephoi, Deorall Parker, and Khanyi Zulu, are making their mark in the traditionally male-dominated industry.

As Women’s Month comes to a close, the spotlight continues to shine on women from all walks of life, celebrating their achievements, perseverance, and drive.

In the logistics industry, a field traditionally dominated by men, three trailblazers – Lebohang Lephoi, Deorall Parker, and Khanyi Zulu – are making a remarkable impact at Brima Logistics in Boksburg.
“These opportunities have allowed us to grow both personally and professionally. Working in a male-dominated environment has helped us develop confidence, skills, and leadership abilities we never imagined we could have,” they said.

Parker added, “Every day brings new experiences. The field empowers us to achieve more, learn continuously, and build expertise that sets us apart.
“We are passionate about seeing more women in industries where they are underrepresented. Women should know there are opportunities; you just need to embrace them,” said Lephoi.

The women emphasised the importance of mentorship and supportive leadership in their journey.

“Our CEO has been a huge advocate for us. He believes in our abilities and encourages us to keep learning and growing. His trust motivates us to give our best every day.
“Having a leader who supports women inspires us to aim higher and make space for others to succeed. It’s about growth for everyone,” Zulu said.

Reflecting on their experience, they shared, “We’ve seen how determination and learning can open doors. Every milestone has strengthened our skills and confidence, and we hope to inspire others to do the same.”

These women are encouraging others to embrace growth and leadership in male-led fields.

When asked what advice they would give women considering similar paths, their message was empowering: ‘If men can do it, you can do it too. Believe in yourself, seize opportunities, and embrace every moment of growth. With dedication and self-belief, you can thrive in any environment.”
