To celebrate the arrival of spring, dozens of residents at Alan Woodrow Retirement Village enjoyed an evening of music and dance on the first weekend of the new season.
Nearly 50 senior citizens showcased their moves to a mix of traditional and modern music, with some even singing along to their favourite tunes. The lively atmosphere was complemented by a variety of snacks, contributed by participants and onlookers who joined in the fun.

Speaking about the success of the event, Maria Cloete said the first-ever spring dance, organised by the residents themselves, offered an enjoyable escape from the cold winter months.
“It was a lovely evening that brought us together. This idea came from us, the residents, to connect with the new season and enjoy nature. It was also a welcome relief from the monotony of everyday life as elderly people,” she added.
The event not only celebrated spring but also fostered connection and stronger relationships among the residents.
