Woodlands International College appoints new pre-primary principal
A familiar face steps into a pivotal role as Woodlands announces its new pre-primary principal.
With more than two decades of experience in Montessori and mainstream education, Natalie Short was recently appointed the new pre-primary principal at Woodlands International College, bringing a uniquely holistic perspective to the earliest years of learning.
She took over the reins from Jenny Copeling after her retirement. Over the past decade, Short has served in the school’s Foundation Phase (grades one to three), where she has supported teachers and learners, strengthened classroom practice and demonstrated notable creativity and leadership.

Her contribution was most recently highlighted in the widely praised Groove Awards.
The newly appointed principal has extensive understanding of early childhood development and her insight into Grade One readiness makes her well-positioned to guide the pre-primary with confidence, warmth and vision.
Short has also collaborated closely with Romy Gatsios, principal of the junior college, a partnership the school says will reinforce the critical transition between pre-primary and Grade One. This continuity is regarded as essential for ensuring a smooth start to formal schooling.
