WATCH: Celebration and relief as matric results bring joy at local IEB schools

Local IEB schools celebrate a 100% IEB pass rate after years of dedication and hard work.

Hard work, discipline and determination turned into celebration as hundreds of matriculants from local schools affiliated to the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) descended on their schools to receive their 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results on January 12.

The Boksburg Advertiser visited the IEB-affiliated schools in Boksburg (St Dominic’s School for Girls, Christian Brothers College and Woodlands International College) and all these schools once again reported strong performances in the IEB matric examinations for the Class of 2025.

Christian Brothers College (CBC)
This school achieved an impressive 100% pass rate in the IEB matric examinations.
Learners celebrated with hugs, high-fives, and wide smiles, their faces reflecting the culmination of years of dedication and effort.

For Max Sennwitz, one of the learners who received his results on the day, said the day was a rollercoaster of emotions.
“I was so nervous waiting for the results, but when I saw them, I felt this huge wave of relief and pride. All the late nights of studying and balancing school activities were worth it.”

He credited his teachers and family for their support, saying their encouragement helped him stay focused during the most stressful moments of matric.

Headmaster Toby Craig praised the Class of 2025 for their perseverance and dedication, adding that a 100% pass rate reflects hard work, commitment, and the values their learners live every day.

St Dominic’s achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2025 IEB matric examinations.

Executive headmaster Roger Loring said the results reflected strong performance across the entire grade, adding that the school could celebrate every learner’s achievement.

Woodlands International College
Woodlands International College also recorded a 100% pass rate for the Class of 2025, preserving its consecutive 100% matric pass rate since inception.

Senior College Principal Justine Harvey said the results demonstrated the strength of the college’s academic approach and the performance of its matric class.
