Volunteer to restore the gift of sight

All proceeds from the event will go to projects that find treatment for retinal blindness.

The organisers of the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight are looking for volunteers to assist during this year’s event on February 15 at Boksburg City Stadium.

“We need your help. Ride for Sight is coming up, and we need volunteers to help make this event possible,” said Retina SA in a statement.

The race, which has raised R10m in its 32-year history, is organised by volunteers under the leadership of Retina South Africa. The race aims to fight retinal blindness. All proceeds from the event will go to projects that find treatment for the disease.

The race features the gruelling 116km super classic, which serves as a seeding event for next year’s Ride Joburg and the 2027 edition of The Cape Town Cycle Tour, where riders compete for the Ernest Hunt Trophy.

It also includes the 62km challenge and a 10km fun ride.
