BCW enjoys fun-filled educational camp

New friendships, newfound confidence and practical life lessons were just some of the takeaways for children.

Boksburg Child Welfare (BCW) recently enjoyed a camp at Altelekker in Pretoria East, focusing on building basic and essential life skills in a safe and supervised environment.

According to BCW director, Nompumelelo Gidela, the camp was designed to help children improve communication skills and feel confident to express how they feel. The programme also included team-building exercises, activities to encourage sharing, and lessons aimed at teaching independence.

Children also took part in cooking under staff supervision, while being guided on how to handle daily responsibilities away from their parents or caregivers. The camp created opportunities for campers to make friends from diverse backgrounds and learn how to resolve challenges.

The camp was sponsored by Reeby Group International, Ekasi Couriers, SF Logistics and Cranecor Africa.
“On behalf of Boksburg Child Welfare, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the sponsors for being instrumental in making this event a resounding success. Campers returned home safe with stories and experiences that will last a lifetime,” said Gidela.

“I would also like to thank parents and caregivers for trusting us with their amazing children, as well as all staff who participated and worked hard in preparing for this camp.”
