Reiger Park Police Station recorded a series of arrests between January 12 and 26.
The spokesperson for the police station, Constable Johannes Msimanga, said that during this two-week period, officers made significant strides in tackling crime, particularly related to drugs, illegal immigration, and public safety.
“The officers arrested 24 individuals for possession of drugs. In addition, law enforcement dealt with four cases of drunk driving, ensuring that dangerous behaviour on the roads is met with strict consequences.
“They also apprehended 11 illegal immigrants, indicating the ongoing challenge of managing undocumented residents in the region.”
Msimanga said other notable arrests included one individual found in possession of unlawful ammunition.
“Most seriously, the officers arrested one suspect on charges of rape.”
He urged the community to continue cooperating with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activity and maintaining vigilance in their neighborhoods.
“These arrests indicate that we are actively working to keep our streets safe. We urge residents to remain alert and report any criminal activity immediately,” said Msimanga.
