CBC Boksburg appoints new high school principal and vice principal
Christian Brothers’ College Boksburg has announced the appointment of Gillian Bernhardt as principal and Sarah Nicol as vice principal, ushering in a new chapter of leadership rooted in faith, excellence and the Edmund Rice tradition.
Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) Boksburg has ushered in an exciting new era with the appointment of Gillian Bernhardt as principal of the high school and Sarah Nicol as vice principal.
Marketing manager of the school, Nikita Teixeira described the appointments as a significant milestone in the college’s continued pursuit of academic excellence, faith formation, and the development of young men of honour in the Edmund Rice tradition.
“Bernhardt’s journey with the college began in 2003. Over the past two decades, she has served the school community with dedication, integrity and vision. Starting out in the English department, she later took on roles as head of department, housemaster and vice principal of the high school.
“Known for her strong leadership, diligence and deep love for the college, Bernhardt has consistently championed both academic achievement and the holistic development of learners.”

Teixeira said Bernhardt’s appointment as principal reflects her long-standing contribution to the school and her passion for guiding CBC Boksburg confidently into the future.
She went on to say that Nicol also brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the college community.
“She currently serves as head of accounting and previously held the role of housemaster of Founders House. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and learner success.
“Her professional involvement extends beyond the classroom, having served as a marker and regional moderator for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB).”
Teixeira said after gaining valuable leadership experience at St David’s, Nicol returned to CBC Boksburg, where her professionalism, dedication and strong values have made a lasting impact.
“As vice principal, we believe she will continue to drive academic growth and innovation, while supporting the holistic formation of learners.
“Together, Bernhardt and Nicol embody the core values of the Edmund Rice tradition; faith, compassion, excellence and service.”
