East Rand Mall celebrates nine years as Ekurhuleni’s best, treats learners to pizza
To celebrate winning the Best of Ekurhuleni award nine years in a row, East Rand Mall treated Dr E.G. Jansen Hoërskool’s Grade 9 class to nine delicious pizzas.
Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen learners enjoyed a delicious surprise when East Rand Mall delivered nine pizzas to the Grade Nine classes on February 27.
The donation marked the mall’s recent recognition as the best shopping centre in Ekurhuleni at the Best of Ekurhuleni (BOE) Awards, an honour it has won nine years in a row.
The pizzas, sponsored by East Rand Mall, were a gesture of thanks to the community that has supported the shopping centre over the years.
“We are doing this to thank the public for their support and for voting for us as the best shopping centre in Ekurhuleni for nine consecutive years,” said Tshepiso Kgowana, marketing manager of East Rand Mall.
“Dr EG Jansen was chosen due to its proximity to the mall, and the Grade Nine classes were selected to symbolically match the nine-year milestone.”
Kgowana emphasised that the gesture goes beyond shopping.
“Whether you’re here for coffee with your mom or looking for clothing, we appreciate the support. The fact that you chose our centre means a lot. We want you to understand the heart of the mall itself.”
The school expressed gratitude for the thoughtful donation, which brought smiles and excitement for learners.
